USER INTERFACE | VISUAL DESIGN

Enabling“Education for Everyone” across the country by leveraging technology and tools.

2022 | Workshop Sprint

The Brief

With the onset of the pandemic, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) across India faced the difficult challenge of moving to virtual forms of education. By the start of 2021, there was a need to re-imagine the site’s values, to make it more accessible and inclusive to the different students that use it.

Our high level goals were to:

  1. Build a scalable, open and inclusive platform for CBSE education

  2. Enable skills enhancement among teachers to improve learning pedagogy

  3. Empowering dropout-students by driving vocational skills

Note: This was delivered as part of a design thinking workshop, where we pitched a future state to the client.

User Interviews

As part of the Design thinking workshop, our team worked on understanding the needs and requirements of Teachers specifically. In-depth interviews with teachers, to come to an understanding of the user scenarios, their barriers and pain points. Our teams insights combined with insights from understanding other stakeholders - the students & admin allowed us to arrive at a holistic understanding of the problem, required measures and further steps that need to be taken.

Heuristic Analysis of the Existing Platform

We conducted a heuristic evaluation on the existing platform base, looked at what worked and what didn’t.

Insights from Research

Education is harder to accomplish over the pandemic, but what was overlooked were the students left out of remote learning due to circumstance.

We found that the brand’s strongest proposition was “freedom” in all aspects.

Possible Intervention:

How do we showcase freedom visually?

Opportunity to showcase the dynamic nature of the brand.

There is a need to build an inclusive education experience, irrespective of tools or technology.

The brand goes beyond their proposition of flexible furniture rentals by also emphasising on their tasteful inhouse designs.

Possible Intervention:

Can we use their large repository of product photography. How do we integrate this with the new brand?
